Ryan and Victoria Are Fictional characters created by me for my own amusement.
They travel around their world and encounter objects and people along the way to which they react and hopefully i will develop a plot, right now its more just scene based humour and current situation exitement, writing like this helps me keep an open ended flow to my writing so as not to make me stop because i can write anything I want.
Ryan
Ryan is a machine hybrid, made from a combination old robot technology and state of the art nanotech. He has a large array of built in visual aparatus that he uses when he finds it neccesary to have more information, Ryan was made by an unamed female roboticist whome he recalls in his ‘dreams’. He sees this woman as the one who gave him life and calls her mother. Ryan is very straight forward and wont lie to you even if you dont want to hear the truth, he is very -and often overly- level headed and often over thinks most things before taking any action. he travels around with his companion Victoria and often winds her up, mainly by accident by just being himself, normally resulting in him being injured. Ryan stands roughly 7 foot tall and can run extremely fast and jump tremendously high, his reflexes are superb and are often inhanced by Victorias ability to see all around her. He is kind hearted and embaresses victoria by always saying things as he sees them, Ryan dislikes grammatical errors in the spoken vocabulary used by humans and often feels the need to correct Victoria as she has the most human speach pattern.

Ryan was created as part of a brief for my BTEC national course during the stop frame claymation unit. In this part of the course we were told to invent a character using a drawing program of our choice so that we could eventually make a plastecine version of the created design. I chose Adobe flash to make my design, i wanted to do a robot that looked like a sort of hanna barbara cartoon, a odly shaped and humanoid robot.
This is Ryans first appearance.
I then of course made him in plastecine for the animation, however due to the design of my character, it was not animated because it required a wireframe to actually stand by itself. below is Ryan as he appeared physically.

After the Stopmotion unit was over I still really liked the character i had created, even though i had never given him a name or an actuall character for that matter, all he had was an physical appearance. i then thought of all the names in the world and even went online to find male names, and I ended up falling flat. I doubed him “Ryan” because it was unusuall for a robot to have such a name, also because it was my favouite name in terms of how it looks with the letter combination and also the way it sounds.
It was after I named him that I began to really love this other new life I had created, and I made him in 3D using 3DSmax, and was enourmously proud of him and myself for getting this far without feeling like abandoning the idea, here is his first Digital 3D appearance.
I used this for my desktop background for a long while until i began to think about what he’d be like as a person. it didnt go any further than this for a while and the model remained unchanged, but a few months later I redid Ryans pencil like legs and redesigned his stomach area.

Victoria
Victoria is a machine made of pure state of the art Nanotechnology. She is Ryan’s travelling companion and appears in the form of a large bladed weapon that Ryan carries over his right shoulder. Her creator, whom she doesnt remember, was planning to give Victoria a body similar to Ryan’s but the project they were both part of was shutdown after Ryans completion. The one of the employees from the Phria Robotics division realised what Victoria’s creator was actually trying to accomplish, and to cover things up she was murdered and all evidence of her existance removed, this included both Victoria and Ryan.
Victoria is a cheerful and thoughtful being and dispite her looks, sees herself as quite the figure of femininity, however her appearance often will make Ryan forget this and say things that get him electrocuted as a result of insulting her pride. She has a tendancy to become very self consious, due to the fact that she is almost incapable of moving without Ryan’s aid and will often ask him if he thinks of her as a bother because of this. She is very stubborn and also quite fragile, she has a tendancy to shout at Ryan when he comes to the wrong conclusions and if Ryan goes too far she normally induces a powerful electric shock to shut him up. Victoria can hear much better than Ryan due to her entire body being ‘alive’ she can also see in every direction at all times, however she cannot see very far without focusing. When Victoria focuses she can extend her ablilities to suit her needs, the amout of concentration depends on what part of her structure she is controlling, when they perform the medical operation on the city child, victoria was concentrating at a celluar level, thus using all of her strength, she also displayed the uncanny and unerving ability to control human actions if she can get some of her nano machines to penetrate their skin. when concentrating her bladed edges either rectract or return to thier defualt appearance, unless she is concentrating on making them otherwise larger. Victoria is Ryans main combat weapon, with both sword and scythe edges Victoria can be wielded to devistating effect in close combat and also in ranged combat, when concentrating she has the ability to change the size of her cannon to fire higher calibre shells at her’s and Ryan’s opponents. after using her cannon weapon as a large calibre weapon Victoria can be made incredibly weak if fired more than once, as she begins to use her own bodys nanites to create ammo for ryan to use, this can be maintained as long as the material lost can be regained, by assimilating metals in close proximity. Victorias body can be as hard as diamond or as soft as gel provided she concentrates enough either is possible, meaning she can be used to shield Ryan from danger if evasion proves difficult.

Victorias creation was somthing of an accident, my friend Ashley (male) was drawing a picture of what was to become victoria, she was connected with a ball pivot to to a sort of cyborg. He said the cyborg wasnt important and that he loved the design of the gun.
First Appearance
Me and ash go way back to nursery days, so I decided to make this gun sketch he was so very proud of into a 3D model. I changed as little of its design as I could and finished the piece within a few days. What was particularly good, was that it was almost christmas, so I sent the video file of the gun he made inside a box that gets opened with some happy christmas text scrolling through. However, this video was inside a locked .rar/.zip file, and I only gave him the file not the password. I told him that there was something hugely important inside and that he MUST keep it safe until i ask for it again, at this point he began to get a little concerned, but i asked him to trust me, and so he did eventually.
I Actually couldnt wait till christmas to find out what he thought about it. so a few days later I gave him the password, and he said that it was the most awsome thing id done. He was so overjoyed to see his beloved creation that he spent only a few minutes on in a sketch, become a true 3D model to which he was the designer.
this gun became victoria slowly in my mind as I made it, mainly because of the fact that when i was done making it, i needed to have sombody hold it, Ryan was the only person decent enough for the job, not to mention they were both similar colours so I told him his guns name was Vic and he said it was cool by him, hence Victoria was created.
after I watched the anime Full Metal Panic, and came to love the two lead charachers Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori relationship with each other, Sousuke the super level headed and overcalculating military professional nutcase, and Kaname the easily angered and enraged beautiful high school girl.

The World so far
Ryan and Victoria live in a strange world and every place they visit will be radically different to the last, the first piece of civiliasation they find is a large british style country city called Solai. the towns has its own Royal family and they hold the ownership to a emmense amount of land that lys to the east of their city, - roughly 12300 achres – this land is populated soley by Sunflowers. These are a special breed of sunflower and have been grown using special toxin known and ‘Sun Solution’. These plants are protected by a Laser security sensor fence that runs around the perimeter of each field and the oil and seeds they produce are sold and make up for at least 92% of all the income the city recieves per year. Considered priceless, no one is spared should they enter the fields without authorisation.
This civilisation has almost no technology at all when it isnt connected to the sunflowers, the Royal family purchased equipment from other places as a further deterant to the people. The chemical ‘Sun Solution’ is a powerful plantmatter growth modifying agent aswell as an industrial strength pesticide that can kill even humans that come in contact with it in its raw state. this was to stop the sunflowers being attacked by wildlife and small raiding partys or neighbouring citys. the fields are maintained by two men and there giant crop duster, The converted B34 - Pheonix bomber.
B34 ‘Phoenix’
the B-34 “Phoenix” is a fictional Areoplane I invented based on my favourite bomber, the B-17 “flying fortress” design. the two men known as the ‘Sunflower brothers’ use this massive 6 engine aircraft to spray the sunflowers with ‘Sun Solution’ to make them grow exponentialy.
Pictures of ‘victims of the sun’ teaches this rule very sternly to people of all ages, however there are still a few, whether out of desperation or because of ignorance, will try to get into the fields to steal sunflowers for their own gain, even when dry the ‘Sun Solution’ can cause extreme iritation to exposed skin the serious health risks are however worth the risk to get hold of these priceless sunflowers.
Solai is currently in a large fued with a neighbouring city of Oloy, Solai was part of the bitter ’3 beliefs’ war with with the Citys Oloy and Vass. In this war people fought foolishly to impose their beliefs on the ’right’ way for humanity to live. Those of Vass got along by means of magic was completely destroyed and a cease fire between Oloy and Solai was formed.
Vass was a city where the citizens were trained to use their souls to help them do things they needed to do, such as defend themselves, move objects that are to heavy for them to carry with strength alone, or in rare cases attack others. there were of course people who trained themselves to use their souls power for evil, it is believed that this is what caused the war in the first place.
Oloy is a city ruled by a very arrogent king, this city is roughly 3 times the size of Solai and Vass, it is a supermodern metropolis of highrise industrial smokestacks and skyscrapers. Oloy was the source of much of the technology that the other citys used, before the war it supported the other two citys technologically, supplying them with the equipment the other citys needed to sustain themselves, after the war however, things changed radically. Oloy closed in on itself, it refused to sell its technology to Vass and Solai. This was a foolish move on Oloy’s part as that it relied heavily on the other 2 citys for their imports of… (incompleted)
